"Tbilisi visit" performance was demonstrated in Julfa region

On March 28, Ordubad Region Folk Theater named after Kazim Ziya performed "Tbilisi visit" performance prepared on the basis of comedy by the well-known educator and playwright, ethnographer Rashid bey Afandiyev at Julfa Region Culture House.

It should be noted that Ordubad Region Folk Theater named after Kazim Ziya was established in 1964. “Unlucky young man”, “Leyli and Majnun”, “The cloth peddler”, “Husband and wife”, “Who is Akbar”, “Farhad and Shirin”, “Bride costing five manats”, “Fellow townsmen”, “Lost health”, “Vital fire”, “Kamancha” and other interesting performances were staged in different years in the folk theatre.

“Tbilisi visit” is a comedy based on anecdotes of welfare. The events in the first part take place at Mardan bey’s house. Mardan’s wife Pusta khanum makes preparations for her husband’s Tbilisi visit. In the first act Heyder bey and Haji Gasim who came to Mardan bey’s house spoke about the incidents happened to them in Tbilisi. Their memories point out the incidents which will happen to Mardan bey. Heyder bey and Haji Gasim advised Mardan bey to be very careful in Tbilisi who has never been to anywhere in his life. From their conversation it is clear that in this city it is necessary to protect from the roguish kintos (a Georgian servant). The main purpose of Mardan bey's visit to Tbilisi is to find a lawyer to help his arrested son in Tbilisi. In the first act, mainly consisting of dialogues and conversations, it is felt that Mardan bey will face interesting adventures in Tbilisi. His friends give their advice to Mardan bey and tell him the place of the hotel to stay. With the arrival of phaeton, Mardan bey left  Shaki for Tbilisi. Nadir Maharramov (Mardan bey), Gunesh Aghayeva (Puste khanum), Oruj Aliyev (Heydar bey), Rajab Guliyev (Haji Gasim) appear naturally and live in the first part of the performance. By the means of these characters, people who reflect our national life at that time are shown.

The second part of the performance is rich in funny elements. In this part, we see Mardan bey already in Tiflis. Artistic design and music inspire Tbilisi city life. Mardan bey, from Sheki, is at “Versal” hotel at the advice of his friends. His aim is to find a lawyer for his son. Mardan bey asks a hotel worker (Emin Yusifli)  to find him a lawyer.  However, the conflict between Mardan bey and another person who accidentally entered his room led to funny situations. The person who made a conflict with him gave the advertisement on behalf of Mardan bey telling he needs a female cook, a person who runs household business, a phaeton rider. These characters are played by Khayal Bayramli, Sugara Mirzali, David Mammadov and Hasan Mammadov. At the end of the performance, Mardan bey, who was in a ridiculous situation, paid his last coins in his pocket for the advertisement and left Tbilisi for Shaki. In fact, the playwright presents a man type with the character of Mardan bey who is self satisfied, in fact disgraced himself facing fraud.

The director of the performance "Tbilisi visit" is Gunash Aghayeva, the music arranger is Gasim Rasulov, the artist is Hikmat Aliyev.

It should be noted that this performance is the second play of the dramatist in the folk theater. Last year, the collective presented "The beard's generosity" by the playwright and this performance was also shown to residents of Nakhchivan in the "Autonomous republic festival of folk theatres -2017".  

 The performance was welcomed by the residents of the region.
