“Heydarbabaya salam” poem was discussed

Discussion of the poem “Heydarabaya salam” by prominent Azerbaijani poet Mahammadhuseyn Shahriyar was held at the Retraining Club No 2 of the Nakhchivan City Culture and Tourism Department.  

The director of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after Mammad Said Ordubadi, philosophy doctor on history Aytakin Gahramanova opened the event and she stated the importance of the Decree “On books that are necessary to read” signed on August 28, 2017 by the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. She underlined the importance of debating books that are necessary to read, including the poem “Heydarbabaya salam”. The director of the library spoke about the importance of research and promotion of Mahammadhuseyn Shahriyar’s creativity, noting that he was not only one of the prominent representatives of the XX century Azerbaijan and the Middle East poetry, but also the world literature.

Pensioner Alasgar Nehramli, librarian of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Library named after Mammad Said Ordubadi Nuriyya Jafarova, librarian-bibliographer Nuray Pashayeva made speeches at the event. In the speeches, it was stressed that Shahriyar’s creativity is a unique and eternal literary school. Therefore, literary criticism has given broader range to Shahriyar’s heritage. Particularly, scientific research works, dedications, memoirs, publicist articles about the well-known poem “Haydarbabaya salam” are facts showing the influence of the master in the literary environment.

It was noted that the poet reflected masterly the village life, its charming nature, simple, hardworking people, national customs and traditions, lifestyle and everyday life   in the poem “Haydarabaya salam”.  In the XX century, Azerbaijani literature has come to a new stage in the subject and idea, and in the creativity of poets and writers, national memory and moral values were widely used. The “Haydababaya salam” poem, which includes poetic expressions of national and spiritual values and sacred traditions, has made Shahriyar famous not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the world.
