Drawing competition finished

The drawing competition on "Great leader Heydar Aliyev through the eyes of young artists" finished at Nakhchivan State Art Gallery on April 17.

Hokuma Mammadli, the Director of Nakhchivan State Art Gallery, the member of the Union of Artists of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic said that the development of Azerbaijani culture, including its fine arts, is connected with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. When the great leader was in power, he paid great attention to painting, Mikayil Abdullayev, Tahir Salahov, Sattar Bahlulzadeh, Boyukagha Gasimzadeh, Maral Rahmanzadeh, Altay Hajiyev, Toghrul Narimanbeyov and other prominent artists were awarded honorary titles and got state awards.

During the period that national leader Heydar Aliyev was in power, it was paid great attention to painting in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nakhchivan Artists' Union was established in our ancient land. Training of young painters were in the focus of attention. Great attention and care to the fine arts in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic  is the continuation and preservation of  Heydar Aliyev's tradition.

It was noted that the drawing competition is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the great personality in accordance with the action plan for the 2017-2018 academic year related to the effective organization of interaction of educational, cultural and tourism institutions. The competition aims to further develop the creative abilities of the students in the autonomous republican schools, form a moral, artistic and aesthetic outlook of the younger generation and further enhance patriotism in the young. The competition started in late October last year and was continued. During this period, region stages of the competition were held in all regions of the autonomous republic. Today the distinguished students participate at the final stage of the competition.

It was noted that in recent years Nakhchivan artists have created many fine art samples dedicated to the great leader. Some of these paintings are displayed at the Nakhchivan State Art Gallery.

At the final stage of the competition paintings by young artists were evaluated with the participation of the jury. Mammadli Kazim (Kirna village secondary school, Julfa region) and Adigozalova Shanakhanim (Julfa region secondary school №2) I place, Hasanli Mahammad (Nakhchivan city secondary school №14) and Aliyev Jabbar (Nakhchivan city secondary school №8) II, Javadli Mehdi (Nakhchivan city secondary school №1) and Ibrahimbeyli Seymur (Nakhchivan city secondary school №3) won the III place diplomas. The other distinguished students were awarded Honorary Decrees.

The previous tours of the competition organized jointly by the Nakhchivan State Art Gallery and the regional education departments of the Autonomous Republic were held in all the regions. The contest began on October 27 finished in April this year. Students of the VI-XI grades, have ability to draw took part in the competition.
