"Nakhchivan will attract more tourists in the coming years with all its beauty"

An info-tour has been organized to the ancient land from April 8 to 10 in order to promote tourism potential and cultural heritage of Nakhchivan, the "Capital of Islamic culture" of 2018. The info-tour on the project "Let’s know and introduce Nakhchivan" held by “Nagshijahan Holding” has involved about 200 entrepreneurs and tourism specialists from 12 countries and Azerbaijan's various tourism companies.

On the first day of the visit a meeting was held at the "Duzdagh" hotel with the participation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the autonomous republic, local tourism representatives.

Then the guests took part in the "Kata" festival, which was held in the “Nakhchivangala” Historical and Architectural Museum Complex in Nakhchivan.

Then they visit  the historical monument and museum "Alinjagala" in the territory of Julfa region. It was informed that the historical monument and museum were restored in accordance with the decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the autonomous republic on February 11, 2014. The tour participants got acquainted with the "Khan Palace" historical-architectural, Momuna Khatin and in the open air museum complex, and received detailed information about these historical monuments. The stone monuments, which were exhibited in the open air in Ajami space in the city of Nakhchivan, made a good impression on the guests. It was noted that the tomb of Momuna khatin, the magnificent monument of Azerbaijan's national architecture, was built by architect Ajami Nakhchivani in 1186 by the order of Shamsaddin Eldaniz, the founder of the Atabeg State.

In the Khan palace the participants were informed that there are more than 900 exhibits in the museum consisting of 8 exposition halls. There are archival documents, photos, family tree of Nakhchivan khanate, map of khanate among these exhibits.

Acquaintance with Duzdagh Physiotherapy Center, Uzunoba Recreation Complex, Batabat pasture located at 2,450 meters above sea level, famous floating island, Agbulag recreation center, were memorable for them.

Then, the promotion film "Tourism potential of Nakhchivan" was watched at Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh. Guests shared their impressions and emphasized the importance of Nakhchivan's tourism potential and cooperation in this area.

Arash Garayli from the Islamic Republic of Iran said that the number of tourists coming from neighbor country is enough: "We will also try to make our contribution to the coming of tourists to the autonomous republic."

Serpil Onal from Turkey expressed her gratitude to the organizers of the tour:  “It is not my first visit to Nakhchivan, but it is the first time I am taking part in such big project as a tourism specialist. Nakhchivan has unique beauty, hospitable people, and first of all you have clean cities and villages. With all these beauties, Nakhchivan will receive more tourists in the coming years”.
